The Gyroscope Methodology – Read Posts
The Wall Street Psychologist’s Gyroscope is a 360-degree “self-motivation” metaphorical model created by the author. Financial Professionals (FPs) will be able to select from a wide range of proven best practices designed to provide incremental psychological and physical improvements to better enable them to cope with deception, betrayal, disappointment, severe financial loss, fear, loneliness, vulnerability, stress, volatility, and panic which are common in the world of finance and markets. Technically, a gyroscope is an apparatus with a central spinning wheel and a device called a gimbal, which allows the wheel’s axle to maintain its orientation and equilibrium regardless of what is happening around it. The beauty of applying this model to the FP’s world is that the Gyroscope allows one to hold steady in times of great chaos and flux. With one’s own internalized inner gyroscope, one can maintain stability and survive and prosper even when negotiating the daily cycles of the market, and that awful phenomenon of market free-fall. If the FP is in touch with, and masters his inner and outer gimbals: his value system, work ethic, sense of wellbeing, duty, skill sets, interpersonal relationships, and his fear and happiness parameters then he has a much, much greater chance of staying his desired course.
So how does one create and cultivate their Gyroscope? This is a major focus of this blog which underscores the fundamentals of the author’s forthcoming book which is entitled: The Wall Street Psychologists’s Gyroscope: Survival Tactics for Financial Professionals in a Money-Mad World. The methodology will unfold accordingly and become apparent with the evolution of this blog. A variety of psychological exercises and physical enhancements make up Gyroscope Methodolgy. They range from personal “rules of engagement” to risk management strategies to meditation, self hypnosis, breathing techniques and “getting your yoga on.” Balance is key in order to master wall street psychology.
